Our client, a leading International Marketing & Communications Agency is currently seeking a talented and innovative Technical Lead. This person will be responsible for the successful delivery of technology initiatives involving application software development.  This role is also responsible for mentoring a team of developers and working closely with the project teams. The Technical Lead role is accountable for the technical direction of each project to ensure consistency in quality products. The ideal candidate will have experience in a world class technology organization with a demonstrated understanding of good business practices around development methodologies.


  • Ability to successfully mentor a team with a focus on sharing knowledge and developing skills
  • Ability to provide  input to application design and requirements
  • Extensive knowledge of VB.NET, ASP.NET, C#, MS SQL, JavaScript and any other languages/environments as required
  • Knowledge and experience performing development phase testing as well as offering support to QA team in testing activities
  • Ability to coordinate with a QA team to manage standard development testing requirements for projects
  • Responsible for technical documentation to support technology initiatives
  • Experience leading a team of developers through project life cycle
  • Responsible for implementing development methodologies relevant in organizations needs while satisfying clients’ needs
  • Participates in ad hoc special projects as required, and other tasks as assigned


  • Post-secondary education in computer science or engineering
  • 5-7 years working experience in Microsoft development environment, with a solid understanding on database-driven web applications
  • 3-5 years experience in Microsoft .NET framework, including C#, VB.NET, ASP.NET, HTML, CSS, JavaScript
  • 3-5 years experience in MS SQL 2000/2005/2008 database. Exposure to Reporting Services, Analysis Services & Integration Services is a strong asset!
  • Experience with Microsoft Visual Studio, & Team Foundation Server
  • Exposure with interactive development technologies, such as Flash, Flex, Silverlight an asset.
  • Knowledge of new trends in technologies, such as commercial and open source content management systems, RSS, social networking principles, mobile technologies
  • Unit testing experience preferably DD/BDD
  • Experience or exposure to agile methodologies (Scrum/XP)
  • Knowledge of Business practices, processes, development phase testing, configuration management/version control, and metrics related software development operations
  • The right fit of experience working in large technology firm as well as boutique firm with an the understanding of the trade-offs among standard methodologies, internal processes and entrepreneurial spirit within the team
  • Experience managing and mentoring a team
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects at any one time
  • Highly organized with an ability to work under tight deadlines and shifting priorities
  • Excellent interpersonal skills with a natural ability to  knowledge and work in a collaborative and collegial environment
  • Must be a highly organized, self-motivated, goal oriented, individual with excellent people management and communication skills
  • A “Solutions Focused” thinker with a strong work ethic and positive attitude
